Join us for a one-day deep dive into figure painting, designed to strengthen your ability to capture the human form with confidence and nuance.

• Morning Warm-Up: Begin with gesture sketches to loosen up, then work from a sustained pose for the remainder of the day.

• Underpainting Techniques: Learn to block in the figure using charcoal or the wipe-out method to establish form and tonal values.

• Mediums: Instruction centers on oil painting, but you're welcome to use your preferred medium. New to oils? We’ll provide the paint.

• Afternoon Focus: Mix and apply flesh tones, exploring color temperature, light, and shadow to bring your figure to life.

• Skill Building: Hone your observational accuracy, brush control, and understanding of anatomical landmarks through measuring and triangulation.
